• Southern Suburbs — a group suburbs which includes Rondebosch, Claremont, Harfield Village, Kenilworth, Plumstead, Ottery, Wynberg, Newlands, Constantia, Kenwyn, Tokai, Steenberg, Bishopscourt, Rosebank, Mowbray, Bergvliet, Rondebosch East, Diep River and in some respects Lansdowne, Wetton, Thornton, Crawford, Pinelands, and Observatory.

• City Bowl & Atlantic Seaboard — includes the central business district of Cape Town (CBD), the harbour, the Company's Garden, and the residential suburbs of De Waterkant, Devil’s Peak Estate, District Six, Zonnebloem, Gardens, Higgovale, Oranjezicht, Schotsche Kloof, Tamboerskloof, University Estate, Vredehoek, Walmer Estate and Woodstock

• Extended Cape Town — includes Bloubergstrand, Durbanville, Riebeeck Kasteel, Cape Winelands (Stellenbosch, Franschoek and Paarl), Cederberg, The Garden Route, Greyson & Genadendal, and Worcester

Speciality cards for Exploring Cape Town:

• Wild Card — one time charge for access to national parks- if you plan on visiting them often, it’s a good investment (especially for Table Mountain)- you apply at the Tokai Forest office, for foreigners, as long as you bring your visa + passport, you get SA fee

• iVenture Card — helps plan visiting spots around Cape Town- its like a 'smart card' which allows you completely cash-free entry or access— great for tourists

• The Olive Branch Deli (Kloof Street) — sells all kinds of artisanal food supplies

• Brazilian Food — Casa Brazil (Beatriz will make you authentic Brazilian food in her home, you can coordinate with her +27 61 483 1949) for Guaraná Antarctica go to Broadway Bakery

• Mexican Supply Stores — Azteca (online importer), Mexican Imports

• German Food — Bakery or Grocer (both are in Gardens)

• If you want to buy postcards in bulk (for R1.88)- Fannie (email or call +27 083 270 7269)- these are great for sending thank you notes back home

• Charity Shops— Chic Mama’s (Wynberg), Petitfox (second hand kids / maternity clothing)

• The Gin Box— sends it’s subscribing members a box of craft gin, paired tonics, quality handpicked products, comprehensive distiller's notes and cocktail recipes.

  • Lifson Linen Factory — products available here include goose down duvets, eco-comfort pillows, scatter cushion inners, Egyptian cotton sheets and embroidered covers

  • Helderberg International Importers — this wholesale and retail outlet has a scratch and dent division that sells slightly spoilt items and appliances to the public at seriously slashed prices for furniture and appliances

  • Ina Paarman Factory Shop (Diep River) — all this popular brand’s spices, sauces, dressings, cake mixes and stuffings at marked-down prices

  • Freezerland (Bellville) — Former suppliers of chief retailers like Woolworths, Spar and Pick n Pay, this Cape Town-based brand is a prime producer of high-quality frozen foods

  • Afreaka Clothing Outlet Store (Gardens) — the largest range of onesies in South Africa 

  • Bargain Books (Diep River) — a wide array of paper- and hardbacks at even lower prices.

  • Gatti Ice Cream Factory- everything from sorbets, to ice cream and confectionary
